Art made for Orange Cat
The apartment did not acquire its pictures afterwards. They grew into it.
Most are by Inessa Gogia. Some stay; some move on.
The Orange Cat
The central painting is the Orange Cat itself.
It hangs on the grey column in the living room and gave the apartment its name.
It is acrylic on canvas.
It stays.
The cats opposite
Seven smaller cats live on the opposite wall.
They are a series by Inessa Gogia rather than seven copies of the same idea.
Some are quiet. Some are not.
The apartment inside the pictures
Several works borrow details from the apartment itself.
A shelf, books, a table, chairs, the orange clock — ordinary things reappear slightly less ordinarily on canvas.
The room and the pictures have been influencing each other for a while.
In the bedroom
The bedroom includes works titled The Tree of Life and The Water Cycle.
They are oil paintings.
They belong to the quieter end of the apartment.
A changing collection
The main Orange Cat stays.
Other works may change, disappear, return or be replaced.
The apartment is lived in, and so is the collection.
If a work stays with you
Many of the changing works can be bought.
